The Passionate Pursuit

It's amazing how easily it is to find ourselves giving in to complacency and grinding daily through an ordinary routine of work, eat, sleep. I also accepted a routine of hiding my true self before the world, and it further eroded any hopes of chasing my passion. Eventually I found myself at a crossroads that only offered one road to healing, choosing to live as my authentic self. Through support from a few family and friends, I was able to see the world through a sort of technicolor eye. I'm trans, but I'm also a parent, a spouse, a guitar player, a public speaker, and a photographer who wants to show the world that life can be as extraordinary as the skies I pursue. Welcome to my world of technicolor.

Undaunted

Undaunted is a limited series of severe weather timelapse videos I'm captured over the last 6 years of pursuing extraordinary storms. It is my hope to finally convey both the danger and emotion that captivates me every time I position in front of these monolithic beasts.

un·daunt·ed : Not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, or disappointment. In all my years pursuing extreme weather, the difficulty in capturing extraordinary images isn't necessarily left to the inherent risk factors of storm chasing. Avoiding injury or death from lightning, tornados, flooding, these are all known risks to the extreme weather photographer. But professionals understand how to at least mitigate risk by accurate forecasting, and trying to stay one step ahead of the storm. The difference between those who excel and those who quit is determination. For every disappointment, for every mile driven, for every time a camera is destroyed from high winds, there is an extreme weather photographer who persists. They are undaunted in their pursuit for the extraordinary.
