Adidas Launches Exclusive Token-Gated Loyalty Program with Tokenproof

Adidas, the popular sports apparel brand, has entered the blockchain space by partnering with Tokenproof, a blockchain-based authentication platform. The partnership will allow the launch of a token-gated feature in Adidas’ Confirmed app, which will offer exclusive access to products and experiences to NFT holders. One such NFT is the 'Into the Metaverse' drop, featuring a limited-edition hoodie and Superstar sneakers created in collaboration with Punks Comic, Gumney, and the Bored Ape Yacht Club.

By introducing this feature, Adidas aims to establish a loyalty club that connects the brand with customers via non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Through the Confirmed app, Adidas will offer loyal customers access to airdrops, virtual and physical events, discounts, and other perks. 

According to the co-founder of Adidas's Web3 studio, Erica Wykes-Snead, this move will allow certain groups to avoid lines and bots and help Adidas connect with customers in innovative ways.

To use the new feature, customers will have to download a crypto wallet and the Tokenproof app. By connecting their wallets to the Confirmed app, Adidas can view their NFT holdings and provide personalized offers that are more targeted than traditional emails. 

Additionally, Adidas will reward customers for sharing their data. With the introduction of this loyalty program, Adidas hopes to improve overall engagement and customer satisfaction, making it a "direct to collector" or "direct to fan" model.

As Web3 technologies gain more prominence, various industries, including fashion, are finding new ways to connect with their audiences. These technologies enable companies to sell digital products, create online communities, and engage with fans in innovative ways. Adidas's move to introduce token-gated experiences and products through the Confirmed app is a significant step in this direction.
