Puma Purchases Cool Cats NFT and ENS Domain
Puma jumped into Web 3.0 by purchasing the "puma.eth" Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain as well as eight non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with "feline" components.
Puma, a German sportswear company, registered its name with the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) Domain for its NFT collection, thus, the company's Twitter handle has been changed to Puma.eth. According to ENS Domain, the rename places Puma to 13th rank in the list of top .eth Twitter accounts.
Nike and Adidas, Puma's competitors, have already entered the NFT space through various projects. In December, Nike entered the metaverse in collaboration with RTFKT to curate NFTs. Adidas made $23 million from its 'Into the Metaverse' NFT collection, created in collaboration with BAYC, GMoney, and Punk Comics.
However, it is not too late for Puma to enter this brisk market. After registering its domain with .eth, the brand jumped to 13th on Twitter's list of most-followed accounts with.eth names. Paris Hilton and Shaquille O'Neal are at the top of Twitter's leaderboard of most-followed accounts with .eth.
Puma also purchased 18 NFTs with a feline collection on Opensea, including Cool Cat #32, Gutter Cat #1110, Lazy Lion #4609, Kuddle Koala NFT, and others.
The company also plans to be part of the current metaverse and web 3.0 revolution. The company advertised for a Digital Culture Manager and a Brand Associate Creative Director job offers on its official website.
