Qatar Airways has introduced a metaverse experience dubbed "QVerse," which replicates boarding one of the company's luxurious planes. Passengers may now use a digital guide to obtain a virtual preview of their upcoming flight by visiting "QVerse."

On Tuesday, Qatar Airways announced the debut of its first metaverse experience, QVerse. This virtual reality platform allows interested parties to visually explore and navigate the Hamad International Airport's Premium Check-in section (HIA).

QVerse is the company's first venture into the Metaverse, according to the company's statements to Cointelegraph. The company stated that it plans to develop its virtual environment projects and believes that the metaverse will play a role in human relations in the future:

We believe that the future is virtual. The metaverse will empower human beings, expand their horizons and break their limits by challenging the most basic methods that were once limitations.

Qatar Airways said it would integrate compatibility with Meta's Quest VR gear to make its "QVerse" even more realistic. Customers may soon be able to purchase NFT boarding passes in the metaverse, according to the airline.

Qatar Airways is interested in refining its "QVerse," but it is open to collaborating with other metaverse systems. In fact, Qatar Airways informed CoinTelegraph that it was looking at Decentraland and The Sandbox for potential partnerships.

Qatar Airways is among the few airlines interested in incorporating Web3 into their business plans. The Dubai-based Emirates Airline, which is not far from Qatar, has big metaverse intentions.

Emirates' COO Adel Ahmed Al-Redha recently stated that Emirates Airlines is interested in several aspects of blockchain technology, including NFTs, crypto payments, and the metaverse, according to Rarity Sniper. Emirates has announced that it would soon accept Bitcoin for ticket purchases and that it will issue NFTs with loyalty benefits.
