RTFKT Partners with Byredo to Launch NFT Perfumes
RTFKT Studios, a Nike-owned firm, recently tweeted about its new collaboration with the Swedish perfume brand Byredo. According to the most recent information, these two businesses are collaborating on a “perfume of the future in Web3.”
The forthcoming collaboration dubbed, 'AlphaMeta', was hinted at in a social media video posted on Friday that also included a link to the release's website.
According to a recent article from Vogue Business, RTFKT claimed that their new "Web3 Perfume" employs a mix of NFT and "near-field communication" (NFC) technology to bring aromas from the metaverse to the real world. It appears that when users create an NFT fragrance, it will connect with NFC codes to replicate the selected elements in a genuine product.
Byredo and RTFKT are developing virtual displays of distinctive fragrances in addition to being affiliated with IRL perfumes. According to recent sources, the art studio M/M is collaborating with RTFKT and Byredo on 26 "ingredients," each of which is connected to a unique "emotion."
Additionally, it appears that everyone who has a Clone-X NFT from RTFKT may be eligible to receive a scent (dubbed "Clone Aura") airdropped into their wallet.
The production of this new "NFT scent" has been compared by RTFKT co-founder Benoit Pagotto to the invention of a "video game potion." Furthermore, Pagotto claimed that Byredo is the "perfect partner" and that the NFT perfume maker is one of his "favorite" upcoming ventures.
RTFKT states that it will soon provide further information regarding its NFT fragrances. In any case, the Vogue Business story suggests that further details will be made public in July.
