Samsung 837X Virtual Store Debuts in Decentraland
During the Consumer Electronics Show 2022 (CES), the South Korean tech giant, Samsung, has revealed its plans to onboard the non-fungible token (NFT) industry and detailed several updates regarding the integration of NFTs in their product lines.
On January 3rd, Samsung showcased its plans to introduce a new NFT Aggregation Platform designed for smart TVs that will allow users not only to display NFTs indexed in various marketplaces, but also buy them directly from the platform. Thus, given that 2021 was the year of NFTs, it is not surprising to see major tech companies like Samsung fully embracing NFTs, and actively exploring the realm of the metaverse.
Following the CES event, the firm launched its first virtual store (Samsung 837X), modeled on the flagship physical store located 837 Washington street in New York City. Samsung 837X Store debuts in Decentraland, a blockchain-powered metaverse built on Ethereum network, with a fully mesmerizing experience featuring quests and live music events, where users can earn NFT badges and exclusive limited-supply collections of Samsung Decentraland wearables.
According to the firm's official press release, Samsung 837X Store will be open in Decentraland for a limited time, and the firm aims to bring the Samsung 837X experience to more people by launching a multiverse approach on new platforms, as each virtual world will bring different experiences for the users.
“At Samsung 837X, we’re excited to tell our connectivity, sustainability and customization stories in a novel way, in a one-of-a-kind space,” said Michelle Crossan-Matos, Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Communications at Samsung Electronics America.
