Sheikh Hamdan Approves the Latest Phase of the ‘Dubai Metaverse Strategy’
The most recent phase of the "Dubai Metaverse Strategy" has received the approval of Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai's Higher Committee of Future Technology Development and Digital Economy. Dubai aspires to become one of the top metaverse economies in the world by implementing this strategy, which aims to strengthen the digital economy.
During yesterday's meeting of the Higher Committee of Future Technology Development and Digital Economy, the next phase of the metaverse plan was approved. With a "particular focus" on the metaverse, the Crown Prince stated that the Committee was seeking new and innovative ideas to further technology and futurist sciences.
Four major Web3 strategies aimed at encouraging innovation and digital growth in Dubai have already received Sheikh Hamdan's approval. They focus on utilizing metaverse technology for governmental functions, conducting research to determine the metaverse's social advantages, and developing a strategy to implement metaverse services that will be presented to the council for approval.
"I chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, and directed numerous task forces to implement 50 initiatives and projects to improve the quality of citizens’ lives in Dubai," Sheikh Hamdan tweeted.
The Dubai Metaverse Strategy, which was unveiled in July, intends to boost the economy of the emirate by $4 billion over the following five years while also generating 40,000 virtual jobs. The Dubai Government Media Office was the first to announce the news on the most recent phase of the plan.
