Twitter users can now tip creators with Ethereum, the second largest crypto currency, on Twitter mobile.

Last year, Twitter stated that they will be launching a tipping function that would allow users to reward their favorite creators in the same way that they tip Twitch streamers. Now, the firm has revealed that it will accept Ethereum-based tips. This is in addition to their support for bitcoin, which they first introduced in 2021.

The tip jar function now allows content creators and people hoping to be tipped on Twitter to add their Ethereum addresses.

The native cryptocurrency of Ethereum, ETH, was not the only payment option added. Paga, Barter by Flutterwave, and Paytm were also added to the available tip jar alternatives on Wednesday, according to Twitter.

The tip jar function on Twitter allows users to choose among third-party payment providers such as PayPal, CashApp, and Venmo, which other users can use to provide financial assistance. Bitcoin tips were just available via Strike's Lighting Network.

It's unclear whether users will be able to tip using only ETH, ERC-20 tokens, or stablecoins. The addition of Ethereum, on the other hand, indicates that the corporation is interested in non-Bitcoin crypto features as well as the developing crypto and NFT sectors.
