Nifty Gateway Teams up with Samsung to Develop the First Smart-TV NFT Platform
Nifty Gateway, which is owned by Gemini, has announced a collaboration with Samsung to create the first-ever smart TV NFT platform for browsing, purchasing, and trading digital art and collectibles.
Samsung's NFT platform is now integrated with Nifty Gateway in their 2022 premium TV product lines, including QLED and Neo QLED TV. For The Frame and MICRO LED solutions, Nifty Gateway also provides its own app.
"Nifty Gateway's mission is to bring NFTs to a billion people by empowering creators and simplifying the way customers buy, sell, create, and hold NFTs. We are committed to making NFTs accessible and NFT purchasing more seamless than ever before," said Duncan Cock Foster, co-founder, Nifty Gateway.
Using Samsung and Nifty Gateway technology, customers can browse, display, and interact with NFTs from the comfort of their couch. They will also have access to over 6,000 art pieces by emerging and established artists such as Beeple, Daniel Arsham, Pak, and others.
Tech journalists have been aware of Samsung's plans to incorporate NFTs into its televisions. In fact, Samsung announced its NFT goals at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show. The Seoul-based electronics company, however, isn't just interested in NFT technology. Samsung is also increasing its investments in the development of its metaverse offerings.
Samsung opened its 837X Experience in the metaverse game Decentraland in January 2022. Based on Samsung's iconic New York City store, this virtual location allows visitors to learn about Samsung's offerings and take part in "quests" to win NFT collectibles.
